After two days of counting H2s (final tally = 33) and jammin' to the beat of the unofficial song of the weekend "Welcome to Atlanta" (where, by the way, the playas do play and the parties really don't stop til' eight in the mornin'), we spent our last day of All-Star weekend strolling around the Street of Dreams to find out what the fans liked best about the Jam Session and, of course, what they thought about NBA STREET Vol.2. After playing the new game, 11-year old Magan Ngoto from Atlanta said, "I like the old-school stars, it has better graphics, and the game is more challenging," and tells all you readers that "when it comes out, you HAVE to get it." Another 11-year old local, Chad Pressy, says that compared to the first game, NBA STREET Vol. 2, "has better graphics, more tight tricks, " plus "the legends are in there and it is old-school." Chad's overall review: "It's a tight game...off the hook." Anthony Gates, 12, from Stone Mountain, GA, thought Vol. 2 "has better people than other street-ball games." Anthony, who came to Atlanta to see his favorite NBA players, was very excited because he spotted one of his heroes, Kobe Bryant, at the Jam Session. The new game and the old legends were also a hit with the "big kids" -- 25-year-old Roland Collins of Atlanta said, "It's hot and the graphics are tight." And young gamers loved it as well -- 6 year-old Kibiru Blythe, an avid Madden fan who can even beat his Dad, told us the new game is "fun and the music is good." We had a little trouble getting reviews from one pair of players, as we couldn't tear them away from the PlayStation 2 long enough to get in a question. Dan, 14, and Justin, 13, both from Atlanta, sat on the floor next to the game kiosk playing non-stop for over half-an-hour. Both boys were using All-Star players, and agreed the graphics are a lot better in the new game. Dan's four-word recap: "It's off the hook!" And Justin simply said, "It's crazy." Eleven-year-old Tevin Boic of Atlanta said, "it's a really cool game. I love the dunks and the fakeouts." Nine-year-old Ray Shawn Finkley thinks, "It's great because you get to be Spreewell and it has all-stars." And finally, Devon Collins, 14, who made the trek all the way from Oklahoma City for the All-Star festivities, thinks the graphics are "excellent," and if anyone asks him about the new game he would tell them, "Go get it as quick as you can." Be sure to check out even more shots of the Jam Session action in our Jammin' Pics.
